Well we all know test lowers your immune system. I have done three cycles and during two of them I have gotten a boil and had to go in and have it drained. Obviously its from my lowered immune system but I didn't want to tell them I was on aas. I was wondering if you guys take anything to boost your immune system during a cycle.

Boils are not necessarily from a low immune system, healthy individuals can get them too. It is a staph A infection in a hair follicle. Probably from shaving with an infected razor. At any rate to answer your question, I like to take Metagenics daily vitamins. They are exspensive but they also happen to be one of the few companies that actually does research and is regulated by the FDA. Douglas Labs. is another good company. I would stay away from the cheap crap you could get at Walmart since it wont absob all that well to recieve any benefit from it.

Yes that is what the doctor said it was, but she checked my sugar to make sure I wasn't diabetic and asked about tobacco usage. She said she sees a few of these a week and are always on a diabetic or tobacco user and said both of those lower your immune system so I automatically thought about the aas. Where do you get your metagenics? Thanks for the info too.

Below list the causes of boils... and yes lowered immunity can lead to a higher chance of having them. Make sure you are takeing enough viatamins A, C and E... Take in fruits that are high in antioxidents as well as vegitables...
Causes of Boils
Boils are generally caused by an infection of the hair follicles by Staphylococcus aureus or staphylococcus epidermidis, a strain of bacteria that normally lives on the skin surface. It is thought that a tiny cut of the skin allows this bacterium to enter the follicles and cause an infection. This can happen during bathing or while using a razor.
People with immune system disorders, diabetes, poor hygiene or malnutrition (Vitamin A or E deficiency) are particularly susceptible to getting boils; however, they also occur in healthy, hygienic individuals, due to overscratching a particular area of the skin.
Hidradenitis suppurativa causes frequent boils.
Boils in the armpits can sometimes be caused by anti-perspirant deodorants.

Alot of people take too much in the form of viatamins... its really a complicated matter... because vitamins absorb differantly in the body, and takeing certain ones will prevent others from absorbing, some absorb better on an empty stomach, some need food, some just break down in stomach acid and are completely useless... in most studies though, a simple centrum multi-vit 2 a day was the most effective. Pretty crazy when you see these people taking these "pill packs"... really uneeded. Also alot of the symptoms of viatamin defenciency can be from to much... so its really a guessing games sometimes trying to help people in that department.

Centrum is not a good a multi vitamin. Most of these so called studies are done by the very company that sells these products. Many store brands contain ingredients and fillers you don’t need. They also provide inadequate nutrient doses. For example, Centrum contains only 4% of the effective dose of the critical antioxidant lutein, 6% of the effective dose of lycopene, and only 29% of the Recommended Daily Intake of selenium. (Studies show that selenium may be a factor in prevention of certain types of cancer.) Centrum also contains just 16% of the RDI of calcium. A lack of calcium contributes to the development of osteoporosis. Without the complete therapeutic dose, the ingredients do little and are virtually non-existent, not to mention calcium competes with zinc, iron, and magnesium which you get all in "one pill". When you are talking about companies that go through many different "middleman" types that get there share of an already small proffit margin, it just doesn't add up. It's like comparing Optimum Nutrition to SynthePURE.

This is the purpose of pill packs.
