Using Whatman filters

At the risk of getting "flamed" for this question...I am going to ask it anyway :rolleyes: So accept my apologies now...laugh at me later :p

My husband is getting ready for his next cycle. Since we have amps, I want to use filters for glass particles.

Low and behold...never using filters before...I don't know how :(

I received a package with a Whatman filter in it. I thought I ordered a 50 bulk pak...but there is only one filter in it.

So I didn't want to open the package until I found out if there are 50 little filter papers in one housing or what.

Now...I can't get back on the website because of the issue they are having...gpzservices.

how much did you pay for them? they are about 3-5 bucks a pop. if i can remeber right. There's probably only one in the package. I dont think you can put new filter paper in them. at least the ones i used, you couldnt

That's just it...I was charged for a 50 bulk pak and only see one package...So I am not sure what to think...since I can't get to the website...I thought someone here might know what to do :eek:

just score ampo good and they will break clean, in many years I have never had issues with glass in my injection from amps.

So did you buy something special, use a file, what method to you prefer :p

Ive never used a filter when drawing from amps. just popped the top and filled the pin

I score my amps with a razor blade. It doesn't have to be a large score; in fact, when I do it the score is hardly visible. Never had glass particle problems. Just make sure the score is even and connects to itself.

When my amp opener gets dull I used a serrated steak knife then wrap in a tissue. I never used a filter for amps either. Got breakage a couple times and just tossed the "remains" cuz I'm not injecting glass. BTW whatmans are only a couple dollars each. If you paid more than that for one then email gpz. They always do me right.

just hold the bottom with a towel and break the top....i think you will be surprised at how easy and clean the break....

The top broken in a heaps of minuscule glasses, damn sust nile!

I will def is a knife or a razor for the futur

i just got a package last week from GPZ, i paid 10 dollars for 2 filters.i only got them because iam using IP bulk, ive never used a filter for amps.
what hapened to that post were they were talking about using the cap of a ball point pin to help break the top of the amp off?
