Though I am not new to working out I always like to get a second opinion before trying something new. I normally workout using 6-8 reps for large bodyparts and 8-10 reps for smaller bodyparts with 4 days a week or I like to use the 5X5 system 3 days a week and I always like to build my program around the deadlift, squat, bench press, and power clean. Now I have used both training protocols during a cycle and was wondering if anyone has tried running HIT during a cycle or should I stick with my training style? If anyone has advice please chime in.

I hate HIT training, and I do mean hate

I gave it a try 4 years ago for 16wks, and my progress was nothing, I actually went backwards, and all I had to show for it was a injured shoulder.

I'm a moderate to high volume guy, and reps fall in the 8-12 range and up to 15-20 for quads. That said I will throw some 6 rep sets in there sometimes for squats and deads, but that's pretty well it.

I know a lot of guys swear by HIT, I know a couple of guys who it has worked well for...I'm just not one of them, my body responds poorly.

So my end advice is if you want give it a try, trying never hurt anything, you may end up loving it...but everyone is different, and everyone’s body responds differently.

Good Luck!

With training you must experiment. What works for one, may not work for another. I've had success training myself and other athletes with may different styles of training form low volume to high volume.
