Need some help I think I messed up something in my left arm like 3 months ago lifting heavy while I was on a cycle. I posted about this awhile ago about my bicep. Well I was playing football a couple of days ago and I felt that same pain I was talking about. I get it when I left heavy only in my left arm. I was lifting earlier that day before football nothing really big I tackled 2 guys nothing major and then it got to a point that I could not play anymore the pain was to much. It didn’t just sneak up it was hurting the whole game then it go to a point I couldn’t take it anymore I am not sure if its my bicep anymore because it hurts in my shoulder also. I can still bench but haven’t tried to do curls yet I don’t know what the hell is wrong it hurt like hell but it doesn’t hurt anymore? I can fell it sometimes in my shoulder when I move in a certain way but nothing major. It started after working out major heavy that’s all I can say but it didn’t just happen. Like I didn’t mess it up I didn’t feel when it happened it wasn’t an event it just sneaked up on me as a pain. I guess that’s how I can explain it. When I stop working out it goes away but when I go heavy it comes back. Am I doing too much over working it WHAT?! I don’t know what the hell is wrong and how to fix it. I just keep on the cycle and keep on trucking. Can someone chime in or something and help out anything similar? Any suggestions? Any insight? Any help? Any Advice? ANYTHING? I an not trying to have to keep on dealing with this. Like it started out as my arm shaking when I was benching. I still would have the strength but my arm was like “I don’t know bout this”. The that pain during football. It all seems ok now but for how long? Until I go heavy and intense again. That’s the way I like working out and if this shit is going to flare up everything than I need ot deal with it some how can anybody help!

I would definitely see a doctor before it gets out of hand.

Sounds like the pain I get from my rotator.

i get the same shit all the time dude. well at least i think its the same. mine hurts from the top of the entire forearm and up to my shoulder, and i get it in both arms. its either tendonitus or the bone is bruised on the forearm somewhere.
its an early sign of over training if we both have the same problem. heavy militaries seem to make it worse, and i've noticed when mine flares up, i have no problem benching, but after the set it hurts when i first let go of the bar and continues to get worse. like a super bad throbbing in the top of the forearm. advil helps, and glutamine, and glucosamine with msm. mine gets bad around football season too because of all the extra impact of hitting people and lifting heavy. i would remain on cycle if you're currently on cycle, and take at least a week off completely. no lifting at all, not even light stuff cause you'll defeat the purpose of recovering. maybe 2 weeks. if its still there after that then go get it checked out.
on a side note, my left rotator has been fucked up for about a year, and i recently pinched a nerve or something in my right shoulder where i couldnt put any pressure without a sharp stabbing pain. well i got some ART therapy and a deep tissue massage and a week later im like 80% better than i was before spending 30 bucks on a massage. so that might also be an option.

I had a pain that sounds like what you got in my right shoulder. it happened after I did behind the neck barbell militaries. It fucked with me for a while. Eventually it went away. You may want to have someone watch your form when you bench to. My gym partner pointed out to me that my right arm folds in a little when I bench heavy and that that would cause me problems later, so this is something I now focus on. I never would have known if someone else hadnt of pointed it out to me.

if you're tucking your elbows in when you bench, it's actually easier on your shoulders because it allows you to use your lats more. but if it was only one arm, it could cause problems like you said.

I totally agree, this could be something that requires WAY more attention than what anyone can realy advise you here.... especially if it is neurological... :) ;) good luck with it!!!

Not having insurance is a bummer... but ya know when people get tendonitis and they put a wrap or a band @ the elbow... sometimes my husband takes knee sleeves and puts on his elbows... it gets above into the bicep and below the elbow where the other band for tendonitis is used... maybe you could just use a little extra support...
To me it sounds like you just keep aggravating the same ole injury and it doesn't have time to heal and repair itself...
OOOOOORRRRRRRRR... just put a band-aid on it and have mommy kiss it:p

hey you wont lose anything by taking a couple weeks off, and at least after that you'll know if you're gonna have to go to the doctor and get it checked out if restin it doesnt help. plus after resting a week or two while i'm on cycle i come back strong as hell. and glucosamine with msm i just get at wal mart since its like 7 bucks for over a month's worth. i get my glutamine from the internet, stay away from gnc because they charge you double the price on everything. ill send you a pm on a good site to get shit cheap.
