Problems giving my own injections!! HELP

Fellas,

I am having a hard time injecting myself. I have been able to shoot 4 times but the rest of the times I have one of my good friends help me out. Do any of you have any tips and or recommendations besides me stop being a puss...?? LOL I am not afraid of needles, but for some reason I can't get past a mental block. I have no problem moving the needle once it is in, but I just can't break the skin.....

Push the shit in, Just do it. :mad: J/K bro.. I remember the feeling,,, its alot less painless if ya do it fast, but when I had the "mental problem" I would put the needle up to my skin and then and then just slowly push,,,, You Can Do IT.

yea its way easier and less painless to do it this way, also when you do it slow you get to hear the needle rip through the muscle and I dont really care for that sound but ya do what ya gotta do!:cool:

My buddy has been shooting me for a month now, it's just getting old because I have to stop by his house on the way to the gym all the time.....

I like the 25g I use. No pain at all. If your doing glutes, lay on your side/stomach and prop your upper body up with a pillow. Easy as can be.

I also read about looking in the mirror to do the poke, but I don't mind it so I never tried that.

I talk loudly to him when I poke... it distracts him and I give a better injection... maybe you should just talk to yourself more ;) Good luck

When I started with vitamin T I was completely new to the whole thing - had never even heard of sites like Alinboard. I had it prescribed by my doc (and still do) and had the nurse show me how to do the injections. I was waaaaay too chicken shit to jus stab it in like she showed me.

I also live a long ways from a pharmacy but could get 20ga. x 1.5's @ the vet supply store. So I'd drop my wrangs in the bathroom mirror and poke around with the needle (or cannon in this case) til I found a spot where it never hurt as much. Then I'd s-l-o-w-l-y push it in weasel it around til it poked through the fascia then s-l-o-w-l-y slide it in to the barrel and shoot.

The whole process would take like 5 minutes lol. I'd do some pretty crappy mangled shoots too cuz I'd fuck around so much gettin it in. Finally cowboyed up and jus stabbed one in one day - felt absolutely NOTHIN. And thats how I do it now - still usin the cannons for the Cyp too. Jus think of it like facin that last set a squats on leg day when ya already feel like pukin and gitter dun! :D

I was the same way bro, I had to have one of my buddies help me out for a lil while. Took me some time to get past it but it's easier now.

watch the part when Lattimer gets pissed off from cycling off the juice and decides to get back on. no hesitation, just yells out "No Problem!!!" every time i inject that phrase gets used and even when my wife does my injects for me. hell i've even gotten her to say it a few times. that will help get you passed the mental block. god that movie gets me freakin jacked up lol. i cant wait for my inject tomorrow before i set a new PR on bench.

I was going strong for the first week on my own then I hit on the inside quad muscle and that night I could barely walk... It is all a mindfuck from here on out.. I just need to get over that "bad hit" incident.

I like this idea, i will definitely be talkin to myself when next cycle comes. Hell I already talk to myself, just havent thought about doin it out loud when inject time comes. I have gotten over stickin it in, but I just cant do it like a dart, so it always goes in the slow way. Maybe this will help me to shoot like a dart.:)

lol best freakin movie ever.....that and over the top :D i got in trouble last football season for grabbin the running backs helmet, screaming "YOU LOST YOUR BONNET BABY!" and then running off screaming with it holding it up like a trophy. you cant really do that in a real football game but it looked bad ass on our game film lol. lattimer is my hero and im still thinkin about doin the skull facepaint for opening game next season.

I forget if you've done it before but if it is your first time, have 2-3 beers and stick it...Other than that thinking about it is your prob...Everyone prob. felt wierd about penetrating their own body with a pin at one point but practice makes perfect...One day you will prob. like it a little until you do ED shots LOL...

Same here! The GF always does the glutes...other than that quads are easiest for me...Edit: Joe, when hitting quads, hit the out side and higher up...If I do it a little to far down(half way to knee or more) it travels down a little with soreness, but no pain no gain right...

I wish someone would have told me to do something like this for my first time. Instead I just kept swinging that pin at my ass and then pulling away at the last moment. The reason why I made the comment about passing out on the pin is because I am suprised that I didnt. Damn it took two frikin hours of swinging that pin at my ass and then my girl finally had to do, not that its a bad thing my girl had to do, but anyway when it was over, I was lightheaded like a muthafka, cause I had been freakin myself out for two hours breathin all heavy....memories..........

Slap the area you are going to inject a few times. Wait a min or so, then stick it in, if you do it slowly, you will feel it going in. If you just stick it like like a dart, you WILL NOT feel a thing. This is how I do it

did you change the pin out? the longer you hold the syringe, the more likely you are to contaminate it.
when i was in my teens, i was a little agitated one day, and went to stick myself, and tensed up. i knew it was going to be a hard stick. ended up wasting a whole shot. had to call my buddy on the phone and ask him to do it for me. you have no idea how funny it feels to call a guy on the phone and ask 'hey dude, can you come stick my ass for me?'

I dont remember if I changed the pin out.. and actually the first couple of times that I was going to do by myself I did end up calling a buddy up (who uses also) to come stick me, it just so happened that both times I called him he was out of town so I was forced to just do it myself and am now glad that I did. :D

Damn. No problem in FL. 2 days ago I walked in to get insulin pinz and it was a different pharm tech than usual. We shot the shit while he wrung me up and asked how long I've been diabetic? I told him I'm not using them for slin it's for IGF-1. After I saw the "What the fuck is that" look I told him it's basically GH. He smiled and said "Cool."

I have always found glute injections REALLY awkward, but I think I know why now, I hold the whole barrel in my palm, do you fellas hold it with just 2 fingers?...

Plus pulling the plunger back with my thumb with just one hand is really difficult too, any tips there?...

Hell ya bud! Thank christ for vet supply stores man. Got me used to usin 20ga. x 1.5's heh heh. When yer out in the middle a no where ya make the best of what ya got ;)
