That's not cool! I dont know, updates usually dont take a week of server downtime, i mean, you'd think the sponsers would be alerted atleast of what's going on? and I dont think Alin has heard anything?

Well think about it. Everyone knows updates don't take more than a day at most. Making a change or even a major change to a site would have been done well in advanced so that the only thing needed would be the copying of files and a little configuration. The funniest thing is that you can't ping that site or even connect in anyway. The only thing I can see happening is that this was a private server and the drive was wiped out, with no backup. Just seems a little weird to not get any kind of notification before going down this long. I'm also wondering if anyone elses connection stops working the minute you try to connect to anabolex?

All good points! It would never take this long to do an upgrade on the site. And no heads up to anyone, including sponsors, its just plain weird. I havent lost my connection though while trying to connect.

Well go to the command prompt and type ping www.anabolex.com and you will get a message that it can't find the host. If the site were just down, it would at least try to ping the IP address. It's registered with network solutions. So something strange is going on. DNS problems are usually very easy to fix. I however don't believe it to be an attack as the IP address would still resolve. Either their DNS server is being severly attacked directly or they took it offline for one reason or another.

I haven't tried it, but I doubt email would work. Reason being is that I can't even look up the MX "Mail Exchange" record for the site as that is also stored on the DNS server. The mail server wouldn't know where to send the email to.
