I go through 8 gallons of skim milk a week. It is a GREAT source of protein. Of course steak, tuna, eggs and all of the other meats are a given. Also check out one of Alin's sponsors and I throw some of this in my oatmeal in the morning and also foods like mac and cheese.

i eat a lot of chili all the time. its got a shit load of protein and it's not really all that unhealthy if you do it right. you can make a bunch of it on sunday and eat on it all week long. saves a lot of time and effort when you're in a hurry and you gotta get a meal in. other than that roast beef is easy if you got a croc pot. put that shit on low before you go to work and its done by the time you get home.

Unless ofcourse you are lactose intolerant to the point where even certain mass shakes give you issues. I had to be taken to the hospital once for ODing on milk....I know they make the lactose free stuff now but its double the cost and the 100% part is dubious...but if not then thats the way to go! I envy milk drinkers!

bump milk....but only when bulking. there is still a lot of sugar in milk which doesnt help when cutting. winter bulking cycles definilty included a gallon/day which really isnt hard, just every meal and protein shake use milk instead of water

Ok on a serious note.... A great meal plan that i use is
6am 17oz muscle milk shake

9am 10oz steak w/ 1 cup of white rice

12pm 17oz muscle milk shake

3pm 8oz white chicken and 1 cup red potatoes

6pm 10oz steak, 1 cup of red potatoes and 1 cup of green beans

9pm 8oz dark chicken and 1 cup of white rice w/1cup of broccoli

Right before bed 10oz muscle milk shake

Thats what i do, it takes discipline but you feel clean while eating like this. And you don't want to put junk in your body or your results will be junk!

Unstacked, I feel full just looking at your meal plan! Bump on the synthPURE, you get a heap of protien, without the feeling of being stuffed....Going through a kg a week does wreck havoc with the old bowel, but I think I may be having a flashback from a weekend of Thai street food...But hey, it sure did fix the old stubborn to much raw egg white blocking the system!

without grossing everybody out, I reckon I could have crapped through a coffee filter! I will give dodgy dark street corners a miss for dinner next weekend I pop down there!!!! :(

Bump Chilli big time!!! I love it. My wife makes awesome homemade chilli (twice the meat, extra kidney beans!) and sometimes I'll grill up a couple of steaks and cut them up to add to it. I'm broke as hell, but I've found you can buy bulk chicken breasts w/ bones for WAY cheaper than the regular breasts in the supermarket. I just take an hour or two sundays to debone the breasts and they're good to go. Just thought I'd share for anyone else who may be financially struggling like I am.

Depends if you're cutting up or bulking.

This is what my diet is like right now for bulking:

meal 1) 10 eggs/4 packs of oatmeal (1700 calories)

meal 2) meal replacement (380 calories)

meal 3) 1 box of Kraft Dinner/1lean hamburger patty (1200 calories)

meal 4) 1 box of KD/6 hotdogs or sausages (1200 calories)

meal 5) 1 chicken breast/1 cup of cooked rice (500 calories)

meal 6) 1 12oz steak rare/1 garden salad/big bowl of pasta (900 calories)

meal 7) 1 chicken breast/baked potato (600 calories)

meal 8) 1 box of KD/2 lean beef patties (1600 calories)

So almost 7000 calories a day. Now granted, some will scoff at this diet, but hey, its worked for me. I have cleaned a couple meals up this past few weeks, but I have no immediate plans to change my diet anytime soon. You know, from time to time Ill be a complete pig and eat anything for weeks on end, and it really doesnt do shit. I dont bloat or get fat, but some people are very different. I say, if you're bulking, go nuts, and just get some good protein and clean carbs in with most meals.

Yeah, but protein shakes dont last nearly as long as solid protein. And I dont touch blenders anymore. Never again! If you can get a solid meal in rather than protein shakes, its way better. I usually have a bottled iso pure as well once a day.

everyday i eat:

either : 1kilo of chicken breast´s... (the real chicken :)), or 1kilo of normal beef, like steak or red meat...

oatmeal

protein shakes

tuna

and a sandwich or 2.

and brownbread... i do the oatmeal, in the morning with the brown bread right after, so i get some fibers and solid food, and that makes my metabolism work faster all day and burn all unness. fats.

and 2 litres of skimmed milk... (0.5gallon)

:)

btw do anyone know how much protein the body can absorbe in one meal... i think its around 20-30 grams without gear... right??

best regards

My main source of protein is of course Tuna, Lean lean hamburger meat, and chicken. I also get protein from my protein shakes, which that is the most.

Your body can easily process about 40-60g of protein anytime, with or without gear. Gear doesnt necessarily allow you to process more protein. Gear simply creates protein synthesis allowing muscles to recover faster. You have to remember though, that protein shakes etc... will only give your body quality protein for about 45 mins and then it will absord and be gone. Solid proteins from chicken etc... will last way longer and feed your muscles for a longer length than shakes ever will. Im not a big fan of shakes before bed. If you can eat a piece of chicken, your way better off as it will take longer to break down in your sleep and will feed your muscles much longer throughout the night.

I wouldn't exactly say that anybody can "easily" digest 40-60g of protein at a time. It is completely dependent and the person. There is a lot of variability out there. I've heard the average person can handle 35-50g of protein every 2.5-3.5 hours. Also, some gear does increase absorption. For example, Tren increases fead efficiency which allows you to digest more protein and waste less.

Sorry, I should have clarified that a little. You're right about it being different for everyone. I think a bigger person could easily process a higher amount though, and I think it also depends on how hard you train and the frequency.

how do you cook those eggs with them there grits? I'm so hungry now and I ate 3 hrs ago. For about 10 days now I can't get enough grub. I'm waking up twice a night putting down shakes then wake my girl and get some shakey shake.( )( ) Seriously, I'm using deca & supertest and I'm 3-4 weeks in and my appetite has gone way up and I'm doing fine and now I'm into cooking and ,yes chile is on the menu. I'm also going to look into a pressure cooker to speed up cooking time. plus I gotta go buy more toilet paper.

If you're bulking, you dont have to follow a 3 hr timeline. Eat when you're hungry. I eat about every 2 hrs now. I eat at least 8 full (big) meals in a day, and thats not including the extras Ill eat some days. Some days Ill get up to about 12 full meals. If you're hungry, you should just eat. Its your bodies way of telling you that you need it. Now if you're cutting, then you're screwed. But it doesnt seem you would be cutting if you're on deca and test :)

Kimskid,

The last thing I've read that directly addressed that question was in Muscle and Fitness Mag. about 12 years ago. The article stated that the average adult male can process 34 grams of protein every two hours. I'm sure there are a lot of different factors that are involved in that statement. ie...type of protein (egg, whey, soy, etc.) , state of protein (solid or liquid. I wonder if you could get protein in a gas form? I know I've gotten a lot of gas from protein, but I don't think it works the other way around.), I figure that because they used the word "average" many times in the article, it's not an exact answer.

Might be clean but if you add up the calories on that its hardly enough to grow on. Looks more like a cutting diet to me.

Are you on a cycle right now?

I read a post on here by someone, i cant remember who, but it had something to do with the importance of cutting or bulking at one time, and not trying to do both (because it impede's progress).

If your going to bulk, you need to make sure your over your maintenance calories EVERY day! no exceptions! and if your going to cut, stay under them! You'll never know how much muscle you COULD have gained if your tank is empty on fuel (food). Keep it full, and maximize muscle gain, cutting is for later! :)

google a calorie counter...it will give you the amounts of protien etc per unit weight...you can then multiply carbs and protein by four for calories, and by nine for fat calories!!!!

http://www.thecaloriecounter.com/Foods/1500/15076/Food.aspx[/url]

1 egg white has about 3 grams of protein, therefore 12 calories....

I think

IMHO, forget counting calories!! If you require heaps of protein ( and I think it is around 1.5 to 2 grams per pound body weight ), take that as your starting point. If protein makes up 50 percent of your diet, carbs 40 percent, and good fats like Flax oil etc making up the balance of ten percent....then as a 200 lb person (and I am using this as an eg), you would need 400grams of protein. From what I have read, the body can assimilate only a certain amount of protein at a time, hence frequent meals.

Using a counter, you can see that the physical amount of food required to produce 400 grams of protein is a fair amount. Real food is far better than shakes, but I have found (and this is while I have been dieting), having a shake (and I use the awesome pure protein whey isolate form synthetek), keeps me from feeling completely stuffed.

According to the excel spreadsheet i made up with the protein values, a whole kg of chicken breast yields 280grams of protein and 1.5 kgs would give you just over 400grams of protein.....Tuna comes in at 2.2kgs, so chicken gives the best thermogenic and protein value per kg....

As a matter of interest, you would have to eat just under 4kg of egg white (raw) to get that much protein!!!!!!

I know you have to eat vast quantities to grow, it is all about feeding them muscles, but avoid the bad fatty shit!

That is just the scientific side of being a chef, but really ask one of the guys who are bulking..there have been some great menus here of late! well except the f'ing happy meals! :D

ok you are saying that i should say fuck calories? and just eat like im doin now??

as a reminder im doin this :

2cans of tuna, 1kilo of red meat or chicken filet, 1-2 liter milk and protein shake...

and some brownbread with something like cheese or something....

and oatmeal in the morning....

should i keep doin that or would you advise me to change it

CountVascular

What I did say at the end was that it would be better to get advice from somebody bulking now.... Bear in mind what you arent using or passing, you are storing, so i would imagine you would have to see what works for you in particular...

The essence of what I was trying to say was to have 4000 calories, would amount to either 450 grams of fat, or if you had 400 grams of protein and 400 grams of carbs, you would be at 3200 calories...throw in some good fat and you are close to a "calorie" goal....

From what I have read, and again I say rely on those better qualified, it is better not to have carbs later, spread you protein through out the day....If you have 50 grams of protein (thats 280grams of Tuna for example) at each feeding, eight times a day, it is a fuck load of food, especially when you add your carbs to your earlier meals......

I know I am. While at work I try to reheat my pre cooked chicken and I can only eat about 2-3 maybe 4 pieces of 2-3 ounce chicken tenders before hardly being able to swallow another bite. I need to mix it with something like rice but can't do that while trying to lower carb intake. I would eat steak when I got tired of chicken but that became exp. for a good cut.

I started buying the cheaper cuts of beef and spending the extra time cutting the fat off. It sucks though. I mean, the meat is good but you end up paying for the fat that you throw away. In the end, you have a smaller piece of beef than you originally anticipated.

I know Alin was talking about a protein powder that he really liked. I wonder if it comes in bulk packaging. I'd like to buy a 10 lbs bag and supplement my diet a little more. (I'm spending way too much time cooking and eating!) I need a protein powder that is really high. Most are around 30 grams per shake. I don't want to drink 4 shakes a day plus meals!

The body needs protiens, complete carbs and fats to to repair muscle, supply energy and maintain good health. Obviously to achieve maximum results a good supply of calories is very important. Rule #1- proteins and carbohydrates supply 4 calories per gram while fats supply 9 calories per gram. Ok a body's BMR (Basic Metobolic Rate ) is the amount of calories needed to neither gain or lose weight at rest. A Body Builders (BMR) is 15-17 calories per pound of body weight. For a 200 lb Body Builder, 3000-3400 caloris is necassary to maintain their BMR so weight gain or weight loss will not occur. To gain weight 16-21 calories per lb of body weight must be ingested daily. To lose weight 10-14 calories per lb of body weight a day is suggested. The goal calorie intake for an Athelete is 30-40% of calories must be protein, 40-50% carbs and 10-15% fats. To find your goal calorie intake remember 16-21 calories per lb to gain weight! 10-14 calories to lose weight, and 15-17 calories per lb to stay the same. Now assuming you want to gain here is what you do. Take 20 calories x bodyweight = Daily calorie intake goal. So now that you know how many calories you need a day remember Rule #1 Prtiens and carbs = 4 cal per gram, fats =9 cal per gram and you want 30-40% of yor daily calorie intake to be protein, 40-50% complete carbs

Thanks Kody, those are great numbers to work with...assuming the weight loss goal, would the calorie intact give you a safe reduction without eating muscle? I read a safe amount of weight to lose should be about 2lbs a week.....

CountVascular

Working with those figures, assuming a 175lb guy (easy for me to calc)

At at ratio similar to yours, but with higher protein, and less carbs, but with more fat, I would bulk at 3700 cals....

The amounts being 2220 cals from protein (/4 would be 550grams)
1000 cals from Carbs ( 250 grams of good carbs)
450 cals from Flax Oil ( 50 grams)

Excellent advice again, thanks. :D

Do you think this is TOO much protein, bearing in mind that when I eat carbs I store the fuckers all over!! Assuming 8 feeds (fuck, I sound like I am a herd animal!), that would mean 70 grams protein per meal..... Maybe I should eat less protein?????

OK, Everyone is on the right track about protein consumption. Remember that protein is broken down into amino acids. Amino acids contain molecules of carbon, notrogen, hydrogen and oxygon. HGH, Insulin, and IGF-1 are specific sequences of amino acids. OK there are two types of protein- complete and incomplete. Complete means it sustains the minimal amount of amino acids to sustain life. The fact is high quanity of protien intake does not mean high quality of protein will be utilized. Look for these aminos (l-leucine, l-isoleucine, and l-valine these are branched chain amino acids. L-lysing, l-threonine, l-methonine, l-phenylaline, and l-tryptophan can not be made from the amino acid pool by the body. This makes them essintal amino acids. Point is, dont buy suppliments or eat meats that are not providing these amino acids. Non-Essintal amino acids are produced by the human body. Dont waste your time or money on eating proteins high in these. I recommend supplements with 20-100 grams glutamine and 5 grams of arginine daily. Point is make sure you eat the right proteins and research ion exchange! Remember complete amino acids is the building block of becoming massive. By the way, put away the Cow's milk (little protein ion exchange) and get a Whey protein isolate that has lactoferrin mixed back into the product. Look for product with Glutamine, Micellar casein and lactoferrin. You will feel and see the differance in how all the protein you are digesting is utilized by the liver and muscle tissue.
