for bent over rows, do you guys recommend/prefer under or overhand for strength and power ??? Any reasons?

I do em with an overhand grip if your talking Barbells.
sometimes Ill use and underhand but most heavy sets Ill use the overhand.

I would usually use under hand for thickness and overhand for more width.

It all depends what type of results you are trying to get, along with your genetic makeup. An underhand grip will allow you to lift the most weight, since this grip positions the elbows closest to the body. It focuses more of the lift to the mid, thick part of the back. If you are trying to widen the back an overhand grip works more efficiently. My suggestion is to evaluate your body type and lift accordingly. I have developed good thickness so I use overhand but I switch it up about every 2 or 3 weeks. Good luck

not concerned about size, just going for strength ... I can actually go up to 405 overhand, but no higher than 315 underhand. i also get in a better groove with the overhand grip.

I like rows with DB's.

Tattered i got the same problem....more power overhand then underhand, i think it's just that it feels more comfortable. i just do my heavy bent over rows overhand and switch it up every once in awhile and do light with higher reps underhand.

Underhand seems to work more of the lower lats for me. Just be careful it puts your biceps at risk if using too much weight. Dosen't seem worth the risk to me. I like to use dumbells for rows. Pull the db up and back to your hips and you should feel that more in your lower lat. Pull more straight up and you should feel it more in your mid to upper lat.
