They're another one of those flash-in-the-pan groups that is actually gonna make it (like green day did)
I still have Disturbed's new album Ten Thousand Fists on my MP3 player... I'll check out the Godsmack

I think music today sucks to incredibly bad it is good to hear that there is still some ok stuff out there. I gotta check this out. Even Hip Hop is really bad. I don't know if it's just when I was younger I had better exposure to underground stuff and alternative stuff and now all I hear is main stream crap, or if music really does suck that bad now. When I go back and listen to like old rage against the machine, or janes addiction, or Nirvana, Nine inch Nails, or sonic youth, first tool album, old soundgarden all this really makes me think the very late 80's early 90's was just a way better time for music. Even hip hop back then with stuff like wu tang, dre, tribe called quest. Man maybe I am just like my parents and can't relate to music now.

There is a lot of good stuff out there now you just gotta know where to look. I still look for underground music. I love Godsmack tho and I am buying that album. I like horror flicks alot tho so i am attracted to music that has that same kind of theme, and I guess white/rob zombie, type o negative, etc.

Yeah fellas, these guys still no how to hit it. I started the same thread over at ProM and said they were one of my favorite bands live. They sound incredible all 11 times I have seen them I have seen them in all kinds of venues, but their best is when the hit the small ones. Saw them at Trump's Taj Mahal inside the club called Casbah. Man they tore the friggin roof off that joint. Sully, the lead singer is an amazing artist. He's about 5'5" 130lbs (with an 18inch neck, lol), and has a voice that should be coming out of a 300 pounder. What a set of pipes. He's talented on the guitar also, but I think he's at his best when they move the main drummer's drum set over on stage and out comes Sully's drum set. Dueling drums to Voodoo is probably one of the most impressive goosebump inspiring things I have ever seen in music. What a talented little fugger. What else would you expect from a band that named themselves after a song from Alice In Chains? Damn I wish Lane Staley was still alive... What a waste.

How old are you tatteredx? You have the opinionated, know-it-all attitude of a young guy maybe 16-20. I'm not busting your balls. I've seen 40-yr-olds with the same level of emotional development (scary really). Please tell me you're on track. The Backstreet Boys? Kelly Clarkson? This is the first season I tivo'd American Idol because it's on before House, MD - which I watch. There's a guy on there this season named Chris who has the best voice I've heard come out of any of those Idol shows. Kelly should be working at Disneyworld, doing shows, and Reuban should be in hot dog eating contests. Who else? Oh yeah, Gay Aiken. Cmon! All the rest are just bad. Except that country girl that won. Don't know her name. Okay, I just heard Chris is not on there anymore. He got voted off. So I have no reason to tivo that show anymore. I guess the days of the garage band are coming to an end. People want cookie-cutter singers with albums manufactured on an assembly line. Thank goodness for P2P file sharing. record companies would be ramming Clay Aiken down our throats (ironic huh?) but I heard a band called Snow Patrol and downloaded some of their stuff and then bought their album. I don't even KNOW what record label signed them.
I guess I'm old too. Do you other OLD men feel the same way? Where are all the good bands? Or is it all just a singer with some generic band jerking their instruments back in the shadows?

Not too bad at all for 19. That's fresh out of high school. I wasn't trying to tear him down, I was just a litle nervous that I was talking to a 42 yr old guy... Now THAT would have made me think.
"If I knew then, what I know now..." - Actually, I got married when I was his age. Where was my mind at?? Oh yeah, now I remember...

Married? WTF? Shit man I just reached puberty 3 years before that!... Late bloomer I guess. Graduated high school at 5'7" 143lbs... whooo hooo.... Fuggin huge! Wish I was this size back the I would have done some damage on the football field, but back then the only thing I could inflict damage on was the girls field hockey team, and that was still taking a chance... :D

WOW! You were on the small side. I always had you pegged for a jock like me. I wrestled, played short stop, and tailback. I was lifting at 19. Started in junior high. I didn't lead our team to many victories so I didn't pull as much tail as some of the OB's did. Which was probably good. I also didn't love wrestling as much because sucking weight was hard for me. I married my high school sweetheart which ended terribly. I remember weighing 175lbs then. I was really fast, could do a 40 in under 5 but I was always too short at 5'8. I'm only 5'9 now. You shot by me. College bars even now I feel like I'm in the Land of the Giants or something. Every one of these kids is 6'+.
girls field hockey? you just love those plaid skirts! On no! We're dirty old men!

Hehe, yeah man... after my first cycle at 18 it kicked in my growth spurt. By the time I was 20 I was a little over 6ft and weighing in at about 210. Glad i was smart enough to stop once the spurt kicked in or I might have fused my bones and stayed at that height. About these guys in college now, you damn right, their monsters. Must be something that has to do with the steroids in livestock or something because it seems like they get bigger and bigger each year. Believe me, 6ft even feels short nowadays in some of those bars...

98% retension (or recall). It's what had me with tutors until I got pubes. If I read it, I own it. It's a miracle when you need to pick out details but a nightmare when your brain is cluttered with useless trivial nonsense. That's why I always led our research groups.
