Okay so those of you who no me i was on trt until about 1 1/2 years ago.my doc is cool and tests my blood quite a bit....So this last time he sends me to an endo because of the manapause symptoms--and i go through all the usual, bloodwork, mri, bone density scan. my doc says " your test is 310 so you have the test of a 65 yr old man and there is nothing i can do but tell you to wait until it comes back up." so i tell her that i appreciate her help but would she test my blood in the future because i am going to do it anyway because i can't take the sweats anymore. and she rolls her chair toward me and says "fine i'll give you gel and we will try and taper you off."
she tells me that hcg will only prolong my natural test from coming back, and that tapering off very slowly like 200mg a week and dropping it down 50mgs each new week will bring my natural test back .And then at the very end of the cycle do something like cyp at 50mgs every 2 weeks and then every 4 weeks and then less and less until my body readjusts.
MY QUESTION IS DOES THIS LADY KNOW WHAT SHE IS TALKING ABOUT? HAVE ANY OF YOU EVER HEARD OF THIS KIND OF THING? I KNOW SHE IS A DOC AND I AM WILLING TO TRY IT AND LET YOU GUYS KNOW BUT IT SEEMS SCARY..ANY ADVISE ...HELL ANY THEORIES WILL HELP.
GUYS I SWEAR ON MY DAUGHTERS LIFE THIS IS NOT A JOKE.

take this for what it is worth and make your own decision. when you need Brain surgery would you ask for a gynecologist or a neurosurgeon? if you were arrested would you ask for a trial lawyer or a lawyer that specializes in zoning law? too many people put there trust in there GP when that is their specialty. I'm sure they are good at there job but they do not know it all. medicine is a practice. one size does not fit all. your best bet is an endocrinologist. hope this helps.

Find a new fucking doctor who is competent. If your test levels are low, why the fuck wouldn't she give you a Rx for TRT? Did you tell her you were using AASs?

If i read it correctly, it was a endocrinologist, telling him to do this.

There is current research that shows when lowering test to 75-100mg wk
the bodys own natural test production starts slowly functioning again. So
there is merit in what she is telling you.

It has been my experience that most doctors are not as familiar with the subject as they would have you believe. I spoke with a few doctors who promised me there was documented proof of "roid rage" and i asked for some proof. Not one of them provided any and when I brought in articles about studies conducted on the subject they acted like they had never disagreed with my opinion.

Anyway, I would get as many opinions as possible and go with what makes most sense to you. I could go on and on with stories about doctors making uneducated decisions. Like Kaju says, most doctors are good at what they do, but I would make sure that you find a doctor with the right specialty. Just my 2 cents.
