yeah i just ordered a bottle of CREATINE MONOHYDRATE 1,200mg

and the directions say
DIRECTIONS: Adults- Take two (2) capsules daily as a dietary supplement, preferably with meal.

should i ignore the with meal part
and take them before i work out?

and how long before i am seeing results?

mono hydrate will likely bloat the hell out of you. when i take mono i get all full and bloated and have a hard time stuffing the food down that i need to eat after a workout. you can try it and see how you respond but i would just give those to your buddy and buy some powdered creatine ethyl ester. regardless, take 5grams pre and post workout on training days. on non training days take the 5grams before bed.

i rocked mono and it was pretty much all water weight that i got from it. Then i tryed cell mass and i gained no water weight from it, just good strenght and recovery, with a little mass added

With the monohydrate you really have to be sure you are getting enough simple sugars when you take it, like with grape or apple juice (aides in the uptake)otherwise you get those issues. Also you should be drinking at least 12oz of water when taking your creatine. Here's a cut and paste:

Creatine Powder: The majority of users use the powder form. It is recommended that creatine should be taken with a non - acidic drink. This is because creatine converts to creatinine in an acidic environment. Grape juice is highly recommended as a drink to accompany creatine ingestion. It is also ok to mix creatine with other proteins. If the user mixes Creatine with the drink he or she shouldn't leave the drink standing for more than a few hours. creatine doesn't dissolve well, so if one doesn't want to loose any un-dissolved creatine at the bottom of his or her drinking cup, then it would be ideal to take a scoop of creatine and swallow it, and wash it with ones preferred drink.

The disadvantage of taking powdered creatine is that a lot of it is wasted in the digestion process or simply left unabsorbed. This leads to indigestion and dehydration.

Creatine Pills: Pills are available in various denominations of weights. The advantages and disadvantages of pills are mostly similar to powdered creatine. Pills are easier to ingest since they don't have to be mixed anything.

Creatine Serum: Creatine can also be ingested in the liquid or serum form. There are numerous advantages in theory, to serum over powder. Creatine serum when gets ingested gets directly absorbed, which means less creatine serum produces same effects. However the major disadvantage of creatine serum is that Creatine is unstable in solution and when left over a few minutes, starts to break into creatinine a waste product.

Creatine Gum: Chewing gum with creatine is also available. The logic behind is that when the gum is chewed in the mouth, creatine released can be easily absorbed.

Users are advised to follow dosage specifications and schedules. Taking more creatine usually results in a waste since excess creatine is excreted by the body through urine. Users are advised not to skip servings or attempt to make up for missed servings by taking more creatine in the next dose.

I like the mono-hydrate, I'm just cautious with how much I take in and with what.

Bump this.. I like phosphagen by EAS. It's just creatine with sugar.

I'm guessing that since, for the most part, genetics determine the amount of fast and slow twitch fibers each of us have, it would make sense that for some people, who have more of the slow twitch fibers, they would be less responsive to creatine, as those fibers tend to burn ATP much slower than the fast twitch.
Just a thought.
I am not a doctor,

IMHO Creatine is one of the very few OTC supplements that has any affect.

Whether it's mono-hydrate or some mixture of sugar really shouldn't matter if taken properly. Mono-hydrate can be just as effective as any expensive sugar combo if taken with something that will cause an insulin spike, like grape juice or dextrose. 30 MG of cheap dextrose (like $2.50 per pound) and 5 grams of mono-hydrate will be far cheaper and just as effective as any expensive mix like cellmass.

Good luck!

I used to get "creatine overload"... it seemed like too many of my supplements were adding creatine (including protein drinks)....
I cut back on all of them and now I just have one preworkout drink that has a small amount in it.
now i'm making good gains again.

I agree with the overload comment. 5 grams per day seems to be plenty, at least for me. I don't even load it anymore if I've been off for a while.

You can tell when you get too much because your piss day glow yellow...

I tried NO-Explode and Celltech Hardcore, but they messed my stomach up so I stopped taking em. Anyone try Platinum Labz Creatine Ethyl Ester (http://www.platinumlabz.com/servlet/Detail?no=9)? I was thinking of trying it since maybe pill form will be easier for me to handle.
