Just have a question for the guys currently on HRT.

I understand that exogenous testoterone will shut down sperm / test production. My question is, is there any way around the lowered / stopped sprem production via a FSH mimicing hormone, like HCG is to LH.

I ask because about a year ago when I had my general physical I had a blood pannel run for hormonal values as well, and I came back with fairly low test. I wasn't terribly surprised because I had noticed a real lack of energy around that time, and my feeling in the gym was just crap. My gains had pretty much come to a halt. This was before my first AAS cycle. Shortly after this I got injured and had to take a couple of months off. After about 6 weeks back at it, I ran my first cycle of a ph called havoc. 4 weeks at 30mg. I don't feel it shut me down that hard, I bounced back just fine no sides, no nothing. 2 months later i still had the same lack of energy in the gym I had before, sex drive was fine etc, but still not a lot of energy. Anyways I ran another cycle of pheraplex 5 weeks at 30-45mg. Got my first gyno. I didn't rebound quite as quickly from this one. First blood test came back at ~120ng/dl I believe.

Two months later, I had a blood pannel run in preparation for the cycle I just ended. Test was still low in the 200ng/dl range. This is extremely low considering my age(21).

Anyways I'm 4 weeks out of this cycle, I stopped it short at 9 weeks because I was having some problems irl, and i was very very satisfied with my gains anyways.

My blood test just came back with my test at 217ng/dl. My FSH / LH were below normal too. I don't have a copy of the blood test on hand as i went in to get the results and didn't take it with me.

That is the background to why I am asking the question about conception on HRT. I'm going to see an endo at the end of this month to figure out why my levels are so low all the time. My doc suggested it is most likely a pituitary problem and might be fixible. I don't mind pinning for the rest of my life, but the idea of possibly not bieng able to concieve sucks. If I do go on HRT for whatever reason I already have some sperm frozen...X-gf made me start doing it before i started cycling just incase, but I would definately prefer to concieve naturally. Anywyas Ojs or ed, any of ya'll on HRT I thought I'd ask and see what ya'll knew. I'm sure the doc will know when I go in to talk to him, but I was anxious.

Well, I started early LOL. I was a father at seventeen, and the one I have is more than I can handle sometimes. I know a couple of pros that have concieved, but they had to be put on fertility drugs and I think also there wives, to give them a better chance at having a child.

This may sound crude, but when I'm shooting blanks, which is common for men on HRT, clomid clears that problem right up.

At least your doing the right thing by seeing a doctor about it. He should have better answers for you. But as for concieving, these days there's always ways to do that, it just might take fertility meds to do it.

Your test level is low, but for some people it takes months to get there full natural levels back. I'm a firm believer in taking time off of AAS cycles. I've noticed these days that people hardly take time off anymore, what I mean by take time off is more than a couple of months. If your one of those people that are slow at rebounding and don't take time off, your natural levels will never come back fully.

Assuming nothing is found wrong with me, I am going to take 6 months off and go natural after this cycle before starting my next one. I would just assume that is the problem, but before I ever ran a cycle my test came back low, FSH and LH were low during that time too. Hopefully the doc will have more answers for me.

Thanks for the responses guys.

Sounds similar to me. I had always had great energy in the gym and then about 1.5 years ago i started randomly feeling like shit. Granted I had ran cycles but I had always had my bloodwork done after and was at the right levels. After a bunch of BS I finally had my test levels checked and they were low then was referred to an endo. I was found to have a small pituitary tumor which was only affecting my test levels and was put on TRT.

For your fertility, I agree with Ed. My doc says he will put me on HCG and clomid to try and get the boys to produce again when it comes time. You should have the same choice IMO so I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Thats how I found out I had a problem. Felt like shit, no energy, and most of the docs I seen wanted to put me on anti-depressants, which didn't do anything of course. Finally found one that tested my test levels, and been on TRT ever since. My natural levels are way below 100. Anything can cause it, from injury, to just your body decided to slow down production. It hard to tell what causes it.

At your age they will probably prescribe you a transscrodal testosterone patch for this problem. As it was explained to me the low dose in the scrodal patch is suppossed to stimulate natural test production. I was placed on TRT at 22 and had the same concern as you, this is what I was prescribed for the time being.
