I've been around here for a little while, not the smartest by any means, i do what I do and thats about the scope of it for me. I have noticed several posts regarding "what else" should i add to a particular cycle. I tend to stay fairly basic, especially during a bulk, cuts tend to be a little more extreme but really only because I compete. I guess i don't understand just adding compounds for the sake of adding compounds. "I'm doing this, what elese can I do with it?" Whats the point there? If you know how a particular cycle affects you and what to expect, why just throw something else in for the hell of it (if it ain't broke don't fix it). It would be one thing if somebody said "I want to get harder, or more mass, or more strength, vascularity" but just dumping another AAS on just to say you did it is simply beyond me. And trust me I'm not saying right, wrong or indifferent here, we all have ideas, concepts and reasons behind why we do this, it's just a way of thinking that I don't get. maybe some clarification would help. I guess, to me, it just sounds to ......recreational, when it's brought up in that manner. Just throwin one out there...............

Agreed. Plain and simple is the best route. I always wonder about the
guy whos running his 2nd or 3rd cycle and has 5-6 compounds listed.
Makes me wonder how the HELL, he even knows whats effecting him ????

it seems to be concentrated towards the younger crowd and the impatient....all thinking if they put every compound known to man in their body they will instantly bloom into the perfect body

Bump. That combined with the availability of Alinshop and their general lack of knowledge. They think that adding another compound will double the affect of their cycle, not really knowing how different types of AAS work. But thats why we are here, to help them. And although it gets very repetitive and some people just don't listen we keep on dishing out advice.

people are too fuckin lazy to push themselves to the extremes in the gym so they think by adding in more compounds it'll make things easier on them to get the same gains. the 3 best compounds in the world are food, intensity, and recovery.

it takes most people awhile before they figure out Steroids aren't magic
They're not:eek::eek::eek::eek: Oh hell Thanks for ruining that for me:D:D:D:D
Big bump on this post! I tell the younguns at the gym it's like alcohol.(when I used to drink:))
I'm a beer guy. I know how beer will treat me so I stick to beer.I don't go throwing shots, then a bottle of wine, then margaritas, and then beer.

Maybe that's it iron. maybe it's that search for immediate gratification, finding the "magic bullet" that will take you to the next level. Unfortunately, i think the media represents what we do in that way as well, you take steroids you get huge; steroids=huge, none of the other stuff matters in thier eyes, even though we know those 3 are the MOST important parts and nothing else works without them. Maybe it's a kind of a carry over from the media's portrayal of AAS to the general public that filters over into the real world (our world?) as a perception that because no work is required, more is better (rather than more food, intensity or recovery). Good point Bro!!

i agree. the media is so ignorant that make us look like us assholes, when instead they could educate people about the subject so idiots wont hurt themselves and make us look even worse. people arent going to stop using them. ya no>?

Not to get up on the soap box, but it's worse than that; Steroids are touted as an evil in our society, something only cheaters use to beat out the good. clean athletes, who obviously must train so much harder than anyone on juice. But while that is going on all of these anti-ageing clinics are showing up and touted as well, to help men stay vital as we age, many treatments available TRT/HRT "Wow how great is that?" What is the "magic"?? Who is the fucker behind the great Oz?? AAS!!! Assholes!! You made it illegal so you could pacakge it up, put a little bow on it, market it as the magic cure all for men and fill your frickin pockets with all the money you make!! It's the same f-ing thing, We knew it already!! We just cut out the middleman!! gives me a frickin headache if I let it!!

This was an excellent post! Most guys think (specially newbs) that the more the merrier when they should be thinking the more the deadlier!
Stick to the basics - 1 or 2 injectables and add in an oral to kickstart if you like. Other than that just keep it simple!

I've been advocating this as of lately Tim. I'm not on a soapbox but rather giving advice from experience. I've been that kid that always took the approach that more was more. I suppose we either get tired and careless, value the $$ a little more, or wiser as we get older. I had a post last week were I stated that if more was more, after 13 years of this shit I should have Ronnie Coleman as my bitch. The availability is the problem - when I was green - you had to know someone who was someone to get your hands on Fina (Tren) - Sust - TBOL (what was that - only the Germans had that shit) - and a handful of others that just weren't available. We had the standbys, as I call them, Test Cyp,Enan - Deca - DBOL - EQ (occasionally) - Winny - and they were expensive - 10 ml Vial of Test - $150 if you were a regular. I know what everybody is thinking - You had to walk up hill, barefooted in the snow, both ways to school to right - Well honestly guys - the internet wasn't in full swing as it is now - we weren't buying shit and having shipped to our door. We were hangin around the locker rooms, waiting on the guru in the fuckin clown pants to wonder in. Guys weren't totin cell phones around on their hips waiting to hook a bro up - hell - they were bag phones man - and not many had them. Alot has changed since the early to mid 90's. You got your gear from a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy - either that or you were dealing the shit and had a supply. And I just couldn't bring myself to be the one sitting on a couple $1000 worth of shit that I had to move or get my face rearanged.
So the problem isn't that these kids are any different than we are or were *- they just have the $$$ that we didn't and have an endless supply source of all the variety. I have ran several cycles in the upwards of 3 gram a week - and can say that I got good gains from a couple of them - but they contained only 2 compounds - I ran one not long back that I fucked up by throwing Tren in - Learn from my mistakes. I can also say that I didn't get my bang for my buck on those cycles - I could have spent my $$ on more food and came out better. Too many compounds in these cycles I see posted lately - 2 compounds at the most with an oral kicker is all anybody from me to Ronnie Coleman needs. And all these new guys throwing GH into a cycle with 4 or more compounds - I think GH is great for PCT - but if you have the $$ to waste on throwing it in with all that aas - you and I need to hook up for a job interview. PCT - what is that - we had PCS (post cycle scramble) meaning - oh shit, I'm out. This is one of things that the cyber world has brought about in the good. Trust me new guys - less is more with aas - more is more with diet and training.

I always follow the 'more is less' and KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid). This especially goes with AAS.
I have to agree with many of the above posts that now adays people are looking for the instant gratification and think that the more you take the less time it'll take to get to the size they want to be. I sure it also doesn't help when threads pop up going over the cycles some pros take (accurate or not) and think that they need to jump in at those insane levels they may or may not take.
Man, this is an excellent post and I couldn't agree more. Like many of you, I was young and dumb and my sources of information about AAS came from whoever was selling it. Discussion boards like this have provided me with so much more detailed information about using AAS in combination with good diet and training than I could ever imagine. Several times a week I hear uneducated guys talking about what compounds they are taking and how they are taking them and 99.99% of them don't know shit and will argue that they are right.
A good friend of mine throws in compounds all the time, some for a few days others for a few weeks.
Great Post!!!

I agree that the internet has definately been a great service to us all. My first cycle was Anapolon (some call it Anadrol) pyramiding up to 150mg a day and back down. No-one explained anything to me, no PCT, no calories, etc... except the 350bucks I paid at the age of 18 for the miracle drug that would make me huge because some 'guru' said it was the best!
The result? Bitch tits which had to undergo surgery, shrunk nuts and liver problems for a while. Luckily I kept my gains but then I was very far from my genetic potential and by far was nowhere near to use AAS. Anyway, I learnt my lesson and as soon as I got internet I began learning each day more and filtering out all the garbage that you can also find on the internet. Nowadays I cycle 2-3 compounds (1 being an oral to kickstart), eat around 5000 calories, perfected my training, use PCT, run HCG and have regular bloodwork and other medical exams!
Life really is easier now than it used to be but for the eager newbs it can be much more difficult and definately much more dangerous. Now more than ever you need to be smart and learn to be patient. Place those egos to sleep and listen to those that fucked themselves up. Learn from our mistakes and grow healthier and permanently!
That's my 2 cents... :D:D:D
