i'm ex-military,worked construction my whole life. basically my body been hammered on. lower back problems, bad disc in my neck, and knees are in tough shape. at the age of 38 i had a hard time playing with my kids. i've worked out most of my life, but decided to get real serious at this cross road in my life. did my first cycle at 39, it was amazing. i felt strong as an ox and my body was starting to get ripped up. and even better my joints and injuries were much less of in issue. i'm now 41 and i just returned from snowboarding with my kids all day. i feel great and i can tell you i will always be on cycle or my trt reg. i'm not saying aas will heal you of injuries, but it has helped me where docs could not. take it slow and easy at first, then ramp it up. i reccomend aas to anyone my age.good luck guys.

Great post!! i did my first @ 41 after an injury. Never regretted a minute of it. @ 43 (almost 44) I got in compettion shape and did well at my first show, now I'm looking forward to competing as long as I can. The cycles, the training, the competion, this board, have all been an incredible experience. Can't wait to see what the coming year holds, 2 shows April and May, i feel like my life just started.

I started my first cycle in June of 2006 at 37 y.o., now I'm 39 with 3 cycles under my belt and have never felt better, I honestly have a more positive outlook on life and owe a tremendous amount of thanks to everyone on this board and Alin. I've been lifting on and off for 20 years and it's funny to look back several years when people thought I was a big mofo before I even started cycling........now what they must think...........:D

I will be 44 very soon and I agree 100%. Not just from a physical standpoint, but a mental standpoint as well. Sometime around 40 I began to notice a decline in my ability to recall things and how quickly I could think. At one point I wondered if it was the first stages of alzheimers or something. And my sex drive was in the toilet. Now I think and have the sex drive of someone 24 not 44.

mabey there should be a over 35 forum here, where threads like this and other threads having to do with, well, just being older and using AAS can be.

What do you guys think?

Being 43 I wholeheartedly agree. I think I have had low test my whole life considering how different I felt when I was on cycle. Next year I am going on TRT fulltime using the Stealth Test C while keeping my understanding Doc in the loop, blood work, etc.

The caveat I might add though is being careful and not injuring yourself while on cycle. My muscles handled the weight gains easily but my tendons didnt. PCT and beyond has left me with moderate pain in both elbows. Its healing but slowly. The weighted chins and dips are awesome to do but hell on joints.

Do you all agree that the biggest risk in TRT is an enlarged prostate or is there other risks that I'm not aware of. I'm only speaking of an TRT level and maybe 2 cycle's a year.

Im 38 now...did my first cycle at age 32. Using AAS has definitely changed my life for the better. The closest I will probably come to being "off" is using 250mg/week of test. Almost makes me glad that AAS arent legal here. It makes responsible and educated users like the people on this board have an edge over other people who get their info and advice from the biased media.

Started jucing when I was 41, have done 10 cycles in the past 5 years. Have gained about 40lbs over this time with the same bodyfat percentage, started powerlifting and now have an 885 squat, 525 bench, and 750 DL. I feel about the same as when I was..........oh 30-35 or so. No sides according to blood work except for slightly elevated cholestoral (diet and cardio could be better) and blood pressure. One of the best things I have ever done for my life quality!

Theatrix
12-24-2007, 04:51 PM
I agree with all of your posts! Life changing, no question! Just wondering what the percentages are for quality of life improvement vs. just not wanting to get older? I began at around 40 as well. For the twenty or so years preceding, I was living my life and got caught up in family and business as many do. This left little time for my own personal persuits. I was blessed to have good genes, so I was never really out of shape, but certainly never in the shape I am now. As far as attempting to set my age to where I feel at the moment, I would have to say that I feel and look in my early 30's. I have continued to compete in a variety of sports with kids in there 30's.
Now for my personal motivation, I would have to say that in the beginning, it was a quality of life issue. Just wanting to feel better. Of late, at age 49, it certainly has me thinking that this has been my own personal fountain of youth and I will be playing football with my grandchildren!
I agree that if done properly, with medical supervision at arms length, (because Docs will never truly support our efforts), it has the potential of adding good quality years to your life. Espectially when I look around at the typical 49 ish fella who has is overweight and 6 months pregenant!

First real cycle was @ 34. I had tried every known over the counter
product since 1985 that was ever made for muscle growth. That being
said, i didnt turn to gear use, for the purposes of muscle growth.

I had been going to the doc, off and on from the age of 28-33 trying
to figure out what was wrong with me . I always got the same DAMN
ANSWER you need anti-depressants. But i wasnt depressed. I had no
energy, drive, disrupted sleep, irrtated all the time from loss of sleep,
and so on...... Now after spending well over 5,000 dollars in meds and
doc fees out of my pocket, and experencing hearing loss, limp Dick from
hell, high blood pressure, fainting spells, feeling like a robot, etc......
I HAD ENOUGH OF THAT BULLSHIT !

I bought a computer and began doing medical research. Every thing i
found pointed to LOW TEST LEVELS ! I even brought this up to the
doc prior to my research, which he replied, quote: (WE DONT GIVE
STEROIDS ANYMORE, WE NOW KNOW THEY GIVE YOU CANCER) :D
The guy doesnt know his head from his ASS!

Anyway, I took things into my own hands, and have never looked
back. (Best decision I ever made) I turned 38 yesterday. :D

It's funny that you mention the anti-depressants, because I was popping Paxil for years. That was there solution to my lack of energy. "It was a chemical imbalance", they said. It was an imbalance alright, just not the seratonin type! Haven't taken an anti-depressant in years!

This thread is pretty interesting reading. I guess I'm not alone in starting late. I did my first cycle at 52yr old. I'm 55 and haven't been in this good a shape or felt this good since my thirties. In fact, I've never weighed this much. In my best shape in my early thirties I only weighed 165-175lbs at a lean 8-9%. Today I'm a comfortable 240lbs at near 12% or so, ....probably somewhere near 225lbs at 8% if I diet down.

If I'd started AAS sooner I don't think I would have learned so much about working out and nutrition. .....so, I have no regrets.

You guys on TRT and cycling all the time really should see your doctor for some basic bloodwork at least once a year. You are at an increased risk of thromboembolism as AAS will stimulate the bone marrow and increase your hematocrit significantly. This could lead to an increased risk of clotting and stroke or pulmonary embolism. My last hematocrit was 50. Much too high and I am only on 200mg/wk. You could always give blood regularly to decrease the thickness of your blood. Its what I do. Good post Ranger. You ready to start up a Best Old Ranger Competition? :D Your brother still in good shape?

I am not too far from Tampa. Shoot me a PM when it gets closer. I may be in Texas around that time however. Yes, I have heard of hemochromatosis. Depending on the severity of your disease, it isnt too bad of an illness. 4am? Good grief...he isnt in the Battalion anymore... :D

No big deal. You are only as old, as you feel.

And i must say those legs could pass for 21-25yrs old. (great condition):)

Whats your secret to staying healthy and young looking??
HGH fountain of youth?? :D

Glad to hear things have improved for you. It is wondeful to have a better quality of life to enjoy with your family. I have had nagging injuries and being on the juice has not hurt a bit, it has only done great things for my body. We have many fine examples in sports today that you can still be world class in your fourties.

I think we should poll the rest of the seroid sites, asking the same question. for the older guys has seriods helped? lets collect all the stories and send them to congress.would'nt that be the balls. maybe they would legalize them. i fuck'n doubt it.:) to anwser the other question i do it to get big ,strong, ripped,so i look young, and feel young. everything.:)

I went on at 48. Helped me through some tough times with much fewer side effects than SSRI's. 50 now, feel 30.

I feel great, look great, and the sex is the best I ever had. A big cycle for me is 12-16 weeks of 250 -500mg T with HCG 250 iu 2x week. A few orals here and there.

Health is great. Biggest problem is the MILFS - looking at me like cats looking in a fish store.

Not gooing off anytime soon.
