Lately I have been eating a bananna with natural peanut butter (Trader Joe's). The cravings go right away. IT is not low calorie but at least the calories are productive.
By the way Drob, I bought one of those mechanical back scrubbers and it seems to be really helping.

If you eat all the trick or treat candy and other bullshit it will go right to your waist line. Have a sensible protein shake with fruit and you will be satisfying both your minimum protein intake as well as your sweet tooth. You are what you eat and you don't want to eat all that garbage. It takes alot of hard work to get to where you want to look so don't through any wrenches in your engine. Use "sweet and Low" or equal to sweeten things up a bit.

Not having those types of food in the house in the first place! (may be different if you have children)
Try some protein Jello. I take a pack of sugar free jello and make it with a scoop of protein. The sugar free jello is almost calorie free and it is great at satisfying my sweet tooth. If you need something with more substance try cottage cheese with pineapple mixed in. That stuff is so good Ill eat a lb or 2 at a time!

This helps a lot and bump on the sugar free jello. It works great for low carb days plus it helps your joints.

Try some lean steak, eggs, peanut butter or a couple of handfulls of roasted almonds. I find these 4 items the best (dieting or not) to help stop those 2am snack-attacks! I admit that the peanut butter and almonds may not be the best things to eat when restricting calorie intake but they're much better for you than candy or junk food. I keep a bag of almonds by my bed so that I don't even have to get outta bed to eat them if I wake up (yeah I know... what a bum!). You could also try supplementing with some kava or valerian root, or that Sleep-RX stuff by HiTech in an attempt to help you sleep through it, hey it's just an idea that works well for me!

I bet your not even really fully awake when you do this...You kinda just get up and go....And what you reach for is the bad stuff. Even if you eat something healthy you still aren't satisfied until you get that cookie? I had this problem to. Its hard....i just try to keep fresh fruit....Raspberries, blueberries, grapes...etc. If you have a drawer full of those, im telling you man.....you CAN munch out, and you wont feel guilty! Plus....it is sweeeettttttt

I know during this cut almonds helped out a ton, unsalted, roasted almonds. I wake up horribly hungry and eat a handful with a glass of water. Helped some. ZMA worked pretty well for me too. 3 days to show...............

LOL...I am sure that went over really well.
I am sure it went something like this:
Drob wife says at 3:00 AM - "Honey, what is that noise"
Drob replies - "Errr, uhhhh, well, that was just the blender."
Wife says - " The blender? What time is it? What the hell"
Drob says - "I was a little hungry. Now bend over because I am a little horny as well"

Good advice...I'm not a big fan of pickles so I'll use peperoncinis. They're a little spicy but I keep a big bottle of h2o on the bed stand.

I have a funny story about this... In my first year of university I was friends (and later more than that) with this beautiful and super cut blonde. She trained and dieted religiously and looked incredible. She was quite thin at first and wanted to put on a bit of lean mass, so I got her lifting heavier with fewer reps. Then she would go back to her circuit training after 6 weeks.. back and forth.
It was about that time she too started having hardcore late night cravings... so bad that she would power through a tub of peanut butter, yogurt, chips... whatever and NOT even remember doing it!! I was also super tight with her roomate, it was so funny they thought people were climbing up the balcony and raiding the fridge... leftovers and shit just kept dissapearing!
I was out one night with her roomie and we went back to their house late, K__ was standing in the kitchen just slowly workin on a tub of yogurt... totally out of it.. like sleep eating!! So funny... It took a bit to get her to snap out of it and she couldn't figure out why we were laughing so hard at her...
This kept going on for a while and I can't remember who she went to see about it but he/she advised her to sleep naked... I guess the thought was to make her less inclined to get up and walk around the house... didn't work! The first night I stayed over after the bar I was on the couch and woke up hearing something rustling around in the kitchen... I look over the back of the couch and there she is, trying to open a bag of craisins or some shit... totally naked. I lay back down in my drunken state wondering if I should behave myself.... She had just split up with her boyfriend a week prior, and my girl was in Mexico and we were on the rocks.. Finally after hearing the rustling and her mumbling for a while I get up and I'm like "you need a hand with that?" she doesn't answer. I had to use the can so I go to walk right by her and she looks at me and asks if I could make her breakfast... I'm like how about in the morning? And she says there's nothing wrong with making Sunday brunch right then... (It was Friday night). Anyway, I went to the can and as I was coming out... she realized she was buck and was soo embarrased.. yelling "omg, omg, wtf, what are you doing here?" she had to walk past me to get to her room... I was a gentleman and grabbed her a towel and threw it at her....she scurried away.
About a month later they had a shaker and I stayed over.. couch was taken so she said I could stay with her, I go to the can, go to her room, she's in bed rockin the birthday suit... I didn't know how to take it after knowing the story with the eating but... it worked out, and we ended up being "secret friends" for about 6 months =) And she just suddenly stopped sleep walking/eating.
Cottage cheese does the trick for me but I find it hard to stay vascular on a ton of dairy so in the spring/summer I just have an Isobolic shake (Whey, Egg Albumen, Casein blend) right before bed, and have a shaker cup ready to go in the middle of the night.

I buy low fat swiss in bulk (50cal,2.5fat,low sodium,7g protein). 2 slices and some grapes does it for me. For the sweet tooth, sugar free jello pudding (double choc.,60cal, 2g fat).

if you're not extreme about carbs (as opposed to only semi-extreme), why not try an omelett with added rice for you last meal, this makes me so full i could not possibly get any sweet-tooth/munchies until next morning

Frozen Strawberries is like candy :)
How does it help joints?
The main ingredient in Jello is gelatin, which contain amino-acids. This helps restore the cartilage necessary for healthy, flexible joints. It certainly won't hurt to add a serving of Jello to your daily diet. Use the sugar-free, if you are a diabetic or don't want to gain weight. Tests have shown after 14 weeks of this regimen, the gelatin users showed a 30 percent increase in strength and function of their knees and a similar decrease in joint pain.
